She is claiming it is an infringement of her beliefs and that no other theory is allowed to be discussed next to evolution.

I hope she wins. The THEORY of evolution is STATED as FACT in all science books in the USA. And yet the THEORY of the Bible's accounts is dismissed as unscientific trash. This is unscientific in and of itself as the methodology of science is to prove or disprove any and all theories. And since neither of these theories can be undisputedly proven or disproven they should both be taught as theories. And the fact that they are only theories should be emphasized. The indivdual can make up his or her mind as they analyze all the data input through the teaching of these theories.

For Jeff: Why are evolutionists afraid to put the theory of creationism in any textbooks? Isn't it unscientific to approach anything with a closed mind? Science MUST include ALL theories. Is it because a child would rather believe in a higher being in control rather than a belief that chaos rules the universe held together by an invisible and fragile thread of a balance which could fly apart at any moment? (Not to mention the teaching of primordial slime as the source of where we came from.) After all, aren't evolutionists clinging to a belief as well since their theory is still riddled with holes and inconsistencies and contradictions all fabricated to substantiate what they are selling? (I like your velcro theory by the way)

an idiot. She should ask her teacher why they aren't teaching anything else. The answer would be that there is no other reputable theory with scientific evidence.

If she cannot provide a reason, then fine. If not... throw it out of court. And infringement of beliefs is not a reason- she's still allowed to have those beliefs. They are just teaching her what science has found, not what religion has found.

A scientific theory is as close as science ever comes to saying "this is fact" the theory of Gravity, for Example.

The "theory" of Intelligent design, in scientific terms, would rate as a conjecture, if that. An explanation that seems to fit most of the facts. Those are worked out into Hypothesis, which is an explanation that seems to fit all the facts. A theory is an explanation that through testing remains entirely consistent with the facts. A scientific theory can be disproved by one experiment, or one piece of evidence to the contrary. there is a lot of contrary evidence to creationism that cannot be explained within creationism. Thus, Conjecture, not theory.

It's kinda like saying that I have a theory that Gravity doesn't exist. Instead, I think everything has some sort of Velcro built in. I could call it the theory of Velcro, but it would not be a scientific theory like Gravity is.

4-5 inches is rather high for a day look, even for a grown woman. I personally wouldn't wear heels to school because I find it tricky to walk in them normally and just wear them going out. I think wearing heels to school are tricky because you have polished floors, stairs, busy corridors and people bumping into you. Skinny high heels are risky for school, but wedges would be ok for a summer day look, as would kitten heels if you had liked them (they're big this season.)

All we have done since the theory of evolution is devolve as it opened us up to demonic possession...just about everything since the enlightenment needs to scrapped and the rewind button hit. Fourth political theory does exactly this.

It is an infringement on her beliefs. Why is it that atheists believe that their beliefs are the only ones that should be taught? Atheists do not want christianity imposed on them, and christians have the right to feel the same way about having evolution forced on them. I think that if creationalism cannot be taught to those who want to study it, then evolutionalism should not be offered either to those who want to study it. It should be a choice.

I guess she is guided by her religious parents and a religious community that wants to expand their power base. The thing is, Russia isnot USA. Putin isnot W.Bush. I'm sure nobody complains about her "right" to read her holy book. If she really wanted to learn, she would read. She's fifteen after all. What she did is only show.

I think it is wonderful. I only wish it was in the US. The biggest problem I see today is that we are losing our rights through the few controlling the many under the guise of equality.
