There should be no generalizing of "Americans" opinions regarding their thinking this country is the best. I'm sure you are aware of the anti government in this country. And you are also aware that the problems experienced over history would not have come about IF the Europeans had stayed in Europe. There was a culture here, a way of life without the problems brought over from the immigrants who proceeded to overrun the natives and turned this land into what it is now. Most people believe that freedom is the strongest point of living in the US but what a price had to be paid by so many others to get that freedom.

Erm - never said my country was the best. I'm terribly humiliated by my current president and his administration... I'm terribly embarrassed that the average 'adult' seems to think they're somehow entitled to the gross excess of wealth they experience.
I guess, in general, I find the US to be an embarrassment in more ways than I can possibly discuss in this limited forum.
We have the potential reserves to drastically curtail poverty globally. To encourage health and happiness globally. To invest in a long term future for all of humanity, that might prevent the disastrous future towards which we're headed as a species.
And instead, we burn fuel, food, money, any resource we can acquire, in some insane self absorbed madness that ensures the doom of our grandchildren, and the planet as a whole.
If anyone has any suggestions on how we can organize to change this disastrous path - email or IM me... please.

Hehe...racism, etc. is actually no worse here than anywhere else. It's just that our media is run by a bunch of self hating causasian liberals who are skrewed in the head. And also, other people from countries where there is less financial opportunity get jealous of the fortunate people who live in the United States, you see. They feel they must post silly questions like the one near the top of this page on yahoo answers.
Ours is the freest and most prosperous country on the planet. Plus, we can own guns in every state, and even carry concealed handguns in many states. That way, if my home is invaded by America haters, I can send them to a different place, where they might feel more comfortable.
Be well, dearie. :->

Obviously propaganda works. Have you ever been to the US? If so you are at least one step further than every other America hating person I have ever talked to.
Every person I have talked to here understands that we have problems. We are working on it, trying to fix these problems. What makes our country great is the ability to change those problems with the people we vote in. It is not something that is only in the United States, it is just one thing that makes us great.

Most of the Americans that feel that way have never been outside the good old US of A, they have nothing to compare it to. Easy to think your the best, the biggest and the baddest when you've not met the kids that live on the next block.

That's how it used to be, but that was many years ago: a country of opportunities, freedom, security... Besides, that's what they teach us in school since we're little, although it's not an excuse to be a total ignorant.

I don't think America's perfect at all. . People here are all diferent . some will respond to this kind of ignorance from 3rd world countries with aggressiveness. The rest will not even consider giving your asinine comments, not to mention racist, a response.

I agree that there is no perfect government established by man but if you don't like the country your living in then you should definitely move from it. I dont wanna live in a country where i would be killed for speaking my mind or my hand cutoff for a first offense theft or live in a overtly hostile environment where a missle could hit my house at anytime...get my point?

I've lived in various countries in the Middle East and Europe, and I've lived in the US. Sorry, but the US is the best as far as living inside it. FOreign policy I can't say one way or another; but life within the US, if you get out of one of the major cities, is near paradisical compared to other places. For 2$ you can eat 1 kilo of corn chips and half a kilo of salsa, and both are deliscious.
You can but 2 liters of drink for 50 cents. 50 cents!
In the US the homeless people are fat. Seriously there are people weighing 140 kilos who have been homeless their entire adult life.
The ghetto people in the US have a higher standard of living than the average person here.
The people are very polite outside of New York, to a wild degree.
If Americans were smart, they'd drop out of the Geneva Conventions and make it the policy to destroy any breathing thing in any place where someone threatens their way of life. America is heaven compared to anywhere else.
