Many in the "helping professions" such as I believe in institutional racism that silently makes it difficult for people to advance. We also have what is known as "a subculture of poverty" in which the middle class values such as delaying instant gratification is not known in these families for them to pass on to the next generation. I do feel people must be punished for their criminal actions, but, there are these issues on which sociey must work. in concert with those society is offering help. Easier said than done, I admit.

Are you saying that they have been wrongfully imprisoned? That they are simply rounded up, dragged from their homes, and forced into prison cells for being perfect law biding citizens?

Your question is loaded and so's your hidden disclaimer of trying to look 'clean'.

You break the law. You get caught by the Law. You get tried by a panel of your peers. You are sentenced if found guilty. And you serve your term in prison.

Doesn't matter if you're rich or poor, native or immigrant, black or white, man or woman.

There are some examples of negligence in our justice system, but its a whole lot better than what your real African brothers in Somalia, Darfur, Rwanda, and Chad are going thru right now...so are THEY a racist culture when its against another tribe in their own country?

The authorities do not arrest people based on the color of their skin.

It's true that there are still certain parts of the nation that discriminate against one another. But otherwise, no. In the government level itself, there is a proportionate number of African-Americans holding important posts, etc. to the total number of their race's population. So technically, that does not indicate a racist culture.

no it indicates people who resort to crime rather then a good days work, don't kid yourself, there is no more racism directed towards blacks then there is whites, this is a proven fact. Look at a ghetto, they can get out of there, they choose not to. Shootings, robberies, prositution, drugs, abuse, and every other thing you can think of, now there may be a little drinking, screwing, and some drugs on my street but nothing like the ghetto, so don't think that means that cops and everyone else is racist. It is their choice to be in jail, and they're so dumb they'll go right back after they get out. Go in Christ

Arresting a criminal REGARDLESS of his race is NOT A RACISM. Stop starting a whole crap here.

They are arrested, because they are criminals, and they did that crime not because they are Black, but because they grew up in that environment.
