I have bladder infections ALL THE TIME and right now im on antibiotics (cipro). This is my second round of cipro in a row because the infection didnt go away the first time. I have to go back to the doc on saturday to make sure its gone (i just finished this current round of antibiotics today) but i think its still there a little bit!! That means theyll put me on a THIRD ROUND of antibiotics. This makes me uncomfortable... I dont like taking antibiotics unless i really really have to and i understand that in this case i do have to but isnt this hurting my immune system? Thanks!!

What you need to do is ask your MD to possibly consider another antibiotic to treat this infection. If 2 rounds hasn't done anything yet, it might not be helping to rid the infection. Perhaps a new antibiotic is needed. Secondly, continued use of antibiotics is not a good thing mainly due to the fact that your body can build resistance to these drugs and then when you do need them, they won't work.
Yes, you need them now to treat the bladder infection, but if he is considering putting you on a 3rd round of Cipro, you need to ask if there is another drug you can try instead.

It sounds like they are treating the symptoms instead of the cause. Tell the doctor you want more testing to find out what the cause is. Yes you can take too many antibiotics. It destroys all the good bacteria in your body. Start eating ACTIVA yogurt everyday to replace the beneficial bacteria.

I do the holistic thing whenever possible, I am looking up the emotional cause for your problem, see if the phrases fit. If they do, just go ahead and try the silly phrases while you meditate to see if it works. The other thing is that if you are sexually active my friends insist if you don't urinate shortly after intercourse then you can get a urinary tract infection....never happened to me, but then again....most people have some sort of sexual hang up that seems to fit that theory.

OK here goes nothing! Based on disease being Dis-Ease.
Bladder problems (Cystitis) - Anxiety. Holding on to old ideas. Fear of letting go. Being pissed off.

Phrase to change the thought pattern: I comfortably and easily release the old and welcome the new in my life. I am safe.

ask your doctor if there is any alternatives, but it's not like bladder infections last forever, so chill.
and antibiotics are not bad for you, it is bad to take a lot b/c then you start becoming "immune" to the antibiotics. so don't worry about taking prescribed medications, you'll be a lot more screwed if you don't take them
