in texas, it seems like most places that handguns are permitted if you have a license, but if you dont have a license then it usually says on the door, 10 years prison and $10,000 fine. i dont know about the other though. what about having a licensed firearm in a place that it is prohibited? which is worst and what is the penalty for each?

This leads to more questions. Why would someone not have a licensed handgun in a permitted area? 1. They didn't get a license yet. 2. They don't abide by the laws - therefore they may be a criminal. And the second.....If someone had a licensed gun in a prohibited area. 1. they are most likely up to no good or 2. Have no idea about that law.

To really get down to details, you would need more information if someone were in that situation to be able to fully make a final judgement. But just from these questions, I would have to say the worst would be carrying a licensed gun where it is prohibited because they are prohibited wherever for a certain reason and most likely that person would have it for something illegal than a person who had an unlicensed one where they were permitted.

I suspect that having a licensed gun in a place that prohibits guns would be much worse. I am a felon so I cannot carry one anywhere or anytime so I have never looked into it.

I think no guns should be allowed to anyone. Anyone caught with a weapon in a crime should get a mandatory sentence of three or more years just for having the gun, then more years for the crime. That's the only way to control crime.

A gun will not protect you against another person. In many cases it can assure your death.

Believe me, both are bad. It's a lot cheaper to get your concealed carry permit or just don't carry.
