WHat happen to general David Crockett is he dead there alot of myth about him !

Yeah, main point is the legendary Davy and his raccoon pelt of a hat died there at the Alamo. "Dead to the last man" rings a bell... not sure from where. Either way, the Mexicans overran them, and yet a force of less than 20 (I forget the exact number) managed to hold the Alamo long enough to allow the main Texan force to regroup. It's fairly accurate to say that the Alamo decided the Texan revolution, actually.

Crockett was a Colonel, not a General. The Texians had no Generals at the Alamo. The ranking officer was Col. Wm. B. Travis. Davy died at the Alamo with the rest in 1836.

he was not a General but a Colonel. there were three men who held the rank of Colonel at the Alamo. Travis, Crockett and Bowie. Travis and Bowie shared command until Bowie was unable to continue when the entire command fell on Travis. each man defending the Alamo was killed. this defeat plus the defeat at Goliad spurred the Texans on to fight Santa Anna and obtain their victory at San Jacinta.
