DiCaprio's character in "Blood Diamond" is not English, he is portraying a South African, but to be honest I cannot vouch for the quality of his South African accent.

I went to see Apocalypto on Friday and after the end I snuck into Blood Diamond. That guys accent was so bad I walked out of a free movie in 5 minutes.

He's South African in the movie and that's a very different accent. He actually does the accent pretty well by the way.

Are you sure its English? The previews, I have not seen the movie, sound very South African to me. Check the accent in one of the Lethal Weapon movies they had true South African accents and he sounds a lot like them.

Sounded something like a weird mixture between a South African and Australian accent.

Because he isn't trying to do an "English" accent, in the film his character is from South Africa
