I've two silver lockets;one belongs to France & other to Italy. They are of year 1830.i.e, they are about one hundred and seventy seven years old. Is it possible to sale them in an auction?

LOL I first read your question as ancient locks. I thought you were selling your hair. Anyway, Ebay would be the best place, but be sure you put a reserve bid because you don't want them to go for nothing. Decide on a price that you can live with and either start the bidding at that price or put a reserve bid for that price. Go on Ebay and look for something similar and see what it is going for. You missed the best selling time on Ebay just before Christmas, but since they lockets are antiques, you might still have good luck.

I just went and looked on Ebay and they have 2 french lockets and one is going for 900 dollars and the other one is 600. Another thing , if you are going to try and sell for that kind of price, you need an appraisal from a jeweler to verify that it is what you say it is.

6 year selling on Ebay.

EBay is a great source, but, there should be a local auction house in most mid size cities. Your lockets sound awesome, good luck and I would probably have a hard time parting with them. You won't have any problems.

Well Ebay is good, but there are others ways if you have jewellery auctions in a town near you. You could look up jewellery auction online. Bonhams do them in London. Although old, as silver, they won't fetch as much as gold.
