Based on my ex's use of ProActive - it certainly shouldn't make acne worse. She suffered from pretty severe acne, and proactive did seem to reduce it, at times it came close to eliminating it. At no point did it ever make it worse.

If used properly, the stuff does really seem to work, and I'm a hard core skeptic about these things (and Gods it cost me a fortune to pay for it for her...).

So - I don't see any reason not to use it, if its justified. Its expensive, but if you have severe acne, it does seem to work.

And it certainly doesn't seem to make acne worse. But if you only have 'normal' acne, I'd suggest washing and scrubbing with normal stuff - much cheaper, and should do the job.

There isn't one brand that will do it all. I'm using Eset Nod 32 on 3 machines and it works great. It uses very little of your computer to run. The only time you even know it's there is when it finds a Virus and a small pop-up when it updates. On 3 other machines i use free AVG. It's a full security suite and seems to use very little of the computer to run but the free version doesn't scan in real time. You have to manual scan. On another machine i have Avast free. It works quietly in the background and speaks to you when it updates but has an annoying siren when it finds a virus. On my laptop i have McAfee Ant-Virus and Firewall . A few years ago it was the best by a whole lot but it's so bloated now that it takes a big bite outta your computer to operate. The only reason that i use it is cuz it came free with some other software i use. For some reason i can't get away from trusting it's capabilities. I also use Ad-Aware 2008 free and Spy-Bot Search & Destroy for adware and other nasties. I seldom have problems with any bad stuff at all.

I had the same problem, only a few pimples that i wanted to clear, and i tried using pro-active. Yes it did help, but i still wouldn't recommend it. I was in high school at the time, and had quite a few friends who used it. I bought some, and used it regularly for a while, but one vacation i forgot to bring it and had to go a week without it. Well, during that week my acne came back worse then before (but only a little worse). I called my friends who used it, and they were like.."ya, it does that to me too if i don't use it. You have to keep using it regular for it to work, you can't stop it" Well, i didn't have the money to keep buying it all the time so i decided i wasn't going to use it anymore. I gave what was remaining to my then boyfriend (who had severe acne) but he was allergic to it and it made his acne 10x worse. I ended up just drinking more water and started using Neutrogena 60 Second Mask/Scrub (which is my favorite!) and some moisturizer and my acne completely cleared up. I don't think it would make acne that much worse, if any for you, but i think it would be wasted money if your acne isn't severe.

Your skin absorbs everything you put on it. It goes straight to your blood stream. Pro Active has harsh minerals for ingredient. I found they made me tired and eventually ate away at my skin. I found that proactive bleached my towels and clothes... I was super mad!!! I didn't even bother sending it back...

I stated using Mary Kay, then I ended up selling it... Facial skin needs a balance of being clean, refreshed, refined and moisturized...

Lack of moisture in your skin creates acne... I know it sounds odd... most people think "my face is oily, I need to wash it before I breakout"

Microdermabrasion is a good way to get ride of dead skin cells (which cause breakouts also) ...

Clinique has good facial cleaning products. Lancome sells AWESOME moisturizers... MAC's cleaning products are horrible for your skin ... they are more of "get the makeup off my face" type of stuff... so...

My acne was not horrible. I only had a few blemishes, but I still wanted a pure complexion.

I use Airbon now. It is an all natural formula. I love it! I have the perfect, un blemished skin now!

I've been using it to prevent major breakouts (i have ok skin as well) and I have never had a problem with it. If you are ever going to have a lot of exposure to the sun, I would recommend to put on a little bit of sun screen (which i just found out proactive sells that too).

Proactive is great. It really works. You have to use it continously though! It's not as expensive as before. They said to use it twice a day, but that usually dries the face a bit, so I only use it once a day. I've tried other similar brands, but they are not as good as proactive.

For me yes, we all have different skin. It works for some people and some not. But you can always go to a dermatologist and ask him/her if proactive is right for you.

Um, Proactive is awesome...it'll improve your skin 100% unless have very severe, cystic acne. I had mild acne and it cleared my skin 100%. My sister had cystic acne and it improved it, but she still had to go on Accutane.

It'll get worse at first, because it draws the pimples that are underneath to the top, but once they are all out, it starts clearing them up and it only gets better from there
