Im 18, and all I have ever worn makeup wise was the gothic/punk type makeup. Now I would like to perfect my ability to do makeup more conservatively! This pic isn't really too conservative in makeup but it is REALLY conservative compared to what I am used to! How exactly should I go about this and what brands do you recomend?

I want to learn how to do that(her eye makeup) so either explainit or direct me to a helpful site, thank you!

That look is kind of like the Lindsay Lohan smokey eye style. It requires blending.
You'll need:

*A few good brushes.

*Eyeshadows... One should be as close to the color of your skin as possible. That is not an essential, but it will make it easier if you are cosmetically cack-handed. You will also need a dark shade.

*A dark eye lining pencil.

*A liquid liner if you would like one (and can use it without making a mess).

* A flat lining brush.

*Mascara.

With a soft brush (or a little sponge applicator), fill your entire eye area with the light color. Use loads - the more of this shade you apply, the easier it will be to add the darker color. This is why it helps if the color is close to your skintone: it will allow you to be liberal without looking heavy-handed.

Line your bottom eyelid with the eye pencil. If your eyes are smaller, only go about halfway. If your eyes are quite large, you can go nearly to the inner corner. Blend the liner with either a fingertip or the sponge on the end of the pencil (if there is one). This will be infinitely easier if you choose a really soft pencil.

Use the liner brush and go over the liner with your darker shadow. The idea here is to make the line really smudgy and to take the hard edge away, leaving a shadowy definition. If you have already gone halfway, now take the shadow about two-thirds of the way. If you have lined nearly to the corner, go even closer to the inner corner with the shadow. The advantage of the flat lining brush is that all you need to do is touch into the dark shadow and then touch along the lashline. If you're really adventurous, skip the pencil and do all of the lining with eyeshadow and the brush.

Once you are done with the previous step you can vary the width of the line by placing the brush into your bottom lashline and then quickly drag it down, widening the line.

For the next step you can either use a middle shade (which you will eventually cover with the dark one), or the dark shade. The advantage of using a middle tone is that the more layers you apply, the easier it will be to use the darkest shade. Powders blend the most easily over other powders. If you don't use enough of the base and then go straight onto the dark shade, it will stick and you will have a mess that only eye make-up remover will fix!

Tilt your head back slightly and raise your eyebrows. Look out for the natural shadow on your eye where the bone of the eye socket is. Using this natural guide, darken with the middle tone. It will depend on your personal eye shape as to whether you use the crease, the outer corner, or both. The ideal with this look is to be able to use both.
For the crease, run a brush from the outer corner towards the inner corner. Don't go the entire way or you'll appear perpetually cross - not the look you're after.

Blend over the eye socket. If you are only going to do the corner, fill under the bone in the outer third, blend in and then looking yourself straight in the eye, blend up over the socket. If your eye will take both, do the crease first, and then fill in the corner. When you are happy, blend your dark shadow over the top of the middle one to give depth. The key word here is layering. When you have picked up the shadow on the brush, soften the color off on the back of your hand first.

Line the top lid with either the pencil or the liquid. Once more, you could employ the liner brush and do this with the dark shadow. You could also wet the brush, blend it into the darker shadow in one of the corners of the cake, and touch the straight brush along the upper lid to create a liquid line.

Add as much mascara as desired. OK, let me qualify that statement. Try to avoid it looking like there are spiders crawling over your lids. Comb your lashes through to keep them well separated....and your done! Super sexy look! Hope this helps!

Oops, almost forgot to add! Apply some clear mascara to your brows, it works great! Tames and keeps them well shaped.

depending on what color ur eyes are, and what they are shaped like you could either do a thin line on the bottom of ur eye and a more shapely one on the top or if you have big beautiful eyes you can do a thick line like she did. make sure you use a soft pencil you may want one with a sponge on the back so you can make the line a bit softer my smudging it a little cauz sharp lines are a no-no. I suggest you take that picture and go to the MAC counter in ur nearest mall and have them show you how to do it--its always good when you ahve a person demonstrate on you, and then buy whatever they use on you. mac products maybe a lil expensive but mac has the BEST eye makeup. my main focus is eye makeup and i do all sorts of crazy colors, liners, and experiments and Mac is just amazing! so spend ur money once but spend it right. good luck and have fun

Use a khol pencil, and make sure its quite sharp, hold the upper lid taught over your eye and draw a thin line across the lid right in where the lashes are, then draw an external line on the lower lid in the same manner, add some mascara... et voila! Might need to practice a few times and have some cotton buds lightly dipped in baby oil handy to eradicte any mishaps :o)
Hope this helps.

im 13 and i usually wear my makeup like this:
1) Line the upper and lower lids with a thin line of creamy gold shadow.
2) Pu on mascara (cuz mascar rocks more than an old lady in a rocking chair)
3) Next take Kohl eyeliner (blackish) and put it on the inside of your bottom lid.
thats how i wear my makeup and have worn it that way for the past...i dunno...week or so? everyone loves it!
OR...you can just look ing magazines and try to copy makeup looks from the modes as close as you can! thats also what i usuall do!

get a good eyeliner (bad gal works great) and a smudger line both the top and bottom lids with eyeliner as close to the lashes as you can get smudge to perfection and then use a good mascara (fantasic lash is the bomb its so cool i can use outdated slang on it) to make your lashes longer but be careful on the bottom so you dont end up looking like a clown and for the the eye shadow use a natural color and for the rosy cheeks use a pale pink color this is a beautiful look good luck on acheving it

I would suggest you use darker color for the eyes to allow it to stand out. Hghlight them with lighter colors nearer the brows. Good luck! Estee Lauder or Channel have some very good selections.

if you're pale use a brown eyeliner color, if you have a darker skin tone use black....for eyeshadow use natural tones, metallic tones, and soft colors like rose but make sure you just put it on your eyelid and not above it. you use another color above your eyelid and blend it together at the spot where you switched colors...it'll look great .then top it off with some mascara...
im tellin you it's hot

Do a thin-med. line with a wet/dry eyeliner (Revlon is a good brand.) Use an eyelash curler to slightly curl the eyelashes upward. and there you have it!

keep the line thin and use a medium brown, not black; set with a q-tip or brush with same tone eyeshadow and soften the edges
