you will want to drain out the excess, as it will foul your plugs, and put undue pressure on cylenders, etc. it could get into other places it shouldnt be, also. its not a good thing.

More than likely, you will be ok and the motor will just smoke a lot until it works the excess oil out. You do stand the risk of blowing seals or worse though, so I'd recommend draining some of the oil out as soon as you can.

You can have a lot of problems and need to immediately drain the excess oil. Having too much oil will cause the spinning crankshaft to work the oil in the overfilled oilpan into a froth and introduce bubbles - it won't lubricate or conduct heat as well and can cause big issues.

Yes, too much oil can cause bubbling due to the piston rods splashing into the oil during the downstoke, which greatly reduces the effectiveness of the oil. Have it drained to the proper level immediately to prevent damage.

The smoke was likely burning oil, which means that the oil got to someplace that it doesn't usually go. You might want to consult a mechanic to make sure that oil isn't gumming up something important in the car. At least drain out the extra oil.

If you have got water in the oil, and this sounds most probable, you MUST drain out ALL the oil, and ALL the water and start again. The head gasket separates the water and the oil, and if this has been interfered with - - - whoops! You will know if water is in the oil cos it will go 'milky'.Best of luck.
