Yes. I believe this is an ongoing process. Leadership should not be taken lightly. For example. If people are rewarded for wrong doing morality and ethics will decline. There is a balance between hearing the people and walking in line with the established laws of our land all the while not cramping the freedoms afforded within democracy. Everyone should be allowed to his or her opinion and say in a matter but shouldn't be allowed to clunk the system up and create political turmoil when they don't get their way. America is and should be a land of opportunity not of enslavement and corruption. Personally I believe if this is not monitored and corrected any establishment will and can corrupt. No one is above this rule. As I read the U.S. Constitution this is the prevailing thought process I believe the founding fathers of America were trying to portray. A different day? Yes. But the same principles apply. Should politicians take a sober approach to leadership? Most defiantly, without a doubt. This is a grave responsibility!

P.S. This answer is not totally aimed at the American Democratic party. Just 90% of it...

american politics has forgotten its roots as the politicians no longer serve the people nor listen to the voices of the people as the ideals of democracy dictates tat they should due. I say this because its panfully obvious that our politicians at current time only have theinnitiative to represent the countrys elite and to serve thier own selfish and personal goals while tring thier backs on the people whose interest they are elected to serve.

In Ted Kennedy's case it just means laying off the sauce for at least one session a year. (But he still shouldn't talk)
