Just because you lose a fight or back out does not mean you are weak or a coward. Kids are very cruel, just try to ignore it and go about your way...if someone approaches you about it, you could just say you are not a fighter...no big deal...then again, as I had once told my son, give them 3 chances, after which, think of something that makes you real angry and deck them, but only after they hit you first....they'll be shocked because they won't expect it....only use this in dire situation...it works...they stopped harassing my son, once he proved to them that he wasn't afraid, just didn't like to fight. Hope this helps you...again only use if necessary!!!!!

High school will come and go. I guess if self-defense is your problem get into a self-defense class so that if there is a next time you are better prepared and this will also deter fights from happening (if they know you have skills they will not test the waters). Also, strengthen your comeback armory (this is better than getting a black eye). You will be out of highschool before you know it so treat it like it's temporary. When it comes down to it, most high school kids (imo) are retarded. If i knew in highschool what i know now it wouldn't have been so stressful. Because you're in highschool and you're forced to go there every day, it becomes your little world and everything that happens in there is like a crisis. It shouldn't. Be mature and be a better person than those around you. Do not stoop to their level and know that you are a better person. There's nothing you can do to improve your reputation other than what i suggested. If you get into another fight and lose again you are screwed and if you win what does that prove? That you can easily be lead to do what they want. Your time should be spent on your studies and bettering yourself. It will eventually become old news anyway, so don't worry about it so much.

You will know who your true friends are if they stick by you. But, if the fight was because you started it, then maybe you should make things right with that person. If you chose not to fight for certain reasons; then thats ok. Give it time. By the end of the school year they won't even care about what happened. Just be yourself. Don't worry about what people think of you; you'd be surprised how much they don't think about you. It's not all about you. People will forget in time.
