First, I'd notify the bank and put a stop payment on the checks you gave to the other person.

I'm sure if the person wrote a reasonable amount, that your account could cover, you wouldn't have any recourse since you gave them a blank check but if the person wrote something like a million dollars and you don't have a million dollars in your account then the check would bounce.

my question to you is, what the hell were you thinking????

Are you stupid? You can put a stop on the checks by calling your bank. Otherwise,,if the checks were cashed, you are responsible for payment. You signed the checks and gave them to another party, this shows intent to pay. In addition, you will have absolutely NO recourse for your actions.

Every check you gave out has a value up to and including every cent in that account.

You should pay the fee to stop payment on every single check you handed out. Then you should close out your account, and take a course in money-management.

WTF were you thinking?

You can deny the amount that are being claimed on the checks that you issued as blank checks by contending that you did not authorize it.

Go stop payment on the check and close your bank account.
