I dont know what you can contribute
i dont know how you rate yourself
i dont know your strengths and weaknesses
i cant tell you something about you as i dont know you
i dont know why they should hire you
you have to sit down and think about these things for yourself and be honest with yourself.

1. What I have to give to this company is my best... every time I come to work I'll give my 100% (depending of the job tailor this answer accordingly:) for example if you are applying for a lawyer firm... say something along the lines ( I believe the expertise and enthusiasm I have will be a valueable asset to this company:)
2. "From 1-10 i would say 8.5 in skill... 10 in effort.... I still believe that have a lot to learn.. and I believe the experience I can gain by working here will hep me do a better job every time I come to work.
3. my weakness is that I dont work well around people who slack around the job :) (this one is really a positive - no matter what line of work you work at this one is always a boss pleaser:) my strengths are my enthusiasm and my will to put the hard work for the job.
4. I am from such and such (say some of your achievments... or hobbies.. a little bit about yourself... nothing compromsng...
5. I believe I can be a valuable asset to your company... I am here to learn and do my best... (something along those lines:)

Basically you should always avoid the question and tell them something about your experience.

Like at my last job I contributed.

At my last job I was employee of the decade

At my last job people relied on my ability to do

Last year I wroked really hard

At my old job the ...

you get the point.

And make sure not to talk about how you just got a hair cut or your boyfriend isnt calling. If its not something DIRECTLY related to work just leave it alone.
