Do you mean like a high pitched beep, but you're unaware of it when there's other noise in the room- because I get that when its really quite

I know how you feel! Pitch black outside and your all alone and then all of a sudden that creaky floor board in the hallway squeaks like someones in the house. It gives me the creeps! *shudders* And this morning when I got up someone left a ciggarette butt out on my front steps. I don't smoke, I live alone and the nearest house is four miles away. Very creepy! I'm glad I have four huge Aussie Shephards and a two pound chihuahua to scare them away!

I used to be with you on this one... I could hear a noise when it was really quiet, but now i can't. I think it has something to do with the age you are... b/c younger people can hear higher frequencies.

No but I have heard some "Thuds" before. All alone in a cabin--pitch black outside and then "THUD".
I hid under the covers. That fixes all weird night time noises.
