I just watched an entire episode of 30 rock tonight for the 1st time, and the premise is so similar to Studio 60...It's behind the scenes stuff of a late night sketch comdey show...I can't believe they are both on the air with the same unique premise is this true? If so...weirrrd.

Well, one is a comedy and one is a drama. It's just like taking the unique premise of looking at medical interns from the interns perspective, and both Scrubs and Grey's seem to be doing alright.

Look at all the "daytime dramas" out there... same storylines, different shows.
All the medical shows, all the "law and order" type shows.
The writers and studios find what works then bleed it until it doesn't work any more.
Days of our lives has been on for over 30 years... and still going.
Look at all the shows that spun off from "friends".
I think having studio 60 and 30 rock will work because 30 rock is definately a comedy, where as studio 60 is more of a "dramady"

I agree very weird, but different. Same premise, but different humor. 30 Rock is more "The Office" type humor while Sunset Strip has some serious moments. I think that they are both short lived storylines though. There's only so much you can write about behind the scenes before it becomes repetitive.
