Radiology is a specialty of an MD...so you would have to go through medical school, then usually do a 2 to 4 year residency in a radiology department before you are considered a Radiologist.

As far as the other comments, they are referring to a Radiologic Technician...the people who actually maneuver the body parts onto the table and take the xray pictures...not the ones who read the xrays and do any diagnosing. :-)

A radiologist is a doctor who specializes in interpreting x-rays, mri, and ct scans. Just like other medical doctors, radiologists have to complete 4 years of medical school. Then they will complete a residency in radiology, which I think is usually 3 years.

quite a bit... Radiologist are the ones that read the X-rays, CTs, MRIs, Mammograms, etc... all the diagnostic imaging there is, they read it...
I've been told that even after medical school they have more to go...
check your local hospital during normal work hours and ask one...

As for what Brandon said.. close but not quite...
Xray techs are radiographers or radiologic technologist... My mom has been an x-ray tech for almost 13 years... she hates being called a "technician" because its not right...
