The point often made about a science degree, that it is a good training for a wide variety of careers, is even more accurate today than it ever was, particularly with the ever increasing rate of development of new technology.
A degree in science will enable you to understand the principles behind new technologies, so that you can understand new developments, and not simply be a slave to the technology itself. Very few people who study science end up as “scientists” in the conventional sense. The vast majority enter a wide variety of careers which might not come to mind immediately (e.g., currency trader, meteorologist, software engineer, statistician) but which require the analytical approach developed in studying for a degree in science.
