Because THERE IS SUPPOSED TO BE A SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE!!!!. And I think that God would agree. If you don't agree, then you believe that only your beliefs are worthy in God's eyes and no one else should have any say in the way in which the people of the United States worship or don't worship. Pray in your house, pray in church, pray in your car, pray in a courthouse, pray anywhere you feel like it - no one is stopping you. If you're a christian and you want to decorate for the birth of Christ - you have every right to do so on your own private property. Do you honestly think that God gives a crap about Christians fighting for multi-colored lights, Christmas trees, and even nativity scenes when there are so many more important issues out there. Don't you think that he much rather we take up the fight of poverty, and a war free world and that we all find a way to get along with one another? All these issues that we should KNOW God is more concerned about, and yet we spend more time arguing about decorating the steps of State buildings and public spaces. Do you think the materialism of the U.S. and our celebration of Christmas is what makes God proud of us?

Oh, and just because it's been going on for year's doesn't mean it's right. Ummm, slavery? Hey and that's in the bible? So we should all go out and get ourselves a new slave. Maybe we can pray to God to get us one for Christmas.

And please, Please, PLEASE, explain to me the ways in which your rights to practice Christianity, other than your perceived right to force it on the whole of America, is being impinged?

One last thing, I think that the Rabbi was actually asking that they include Hannukah, not that they exclude Christmas. What a shame and so un-christian like and so grinch like that the answer the Airport gave was to take the trees down and not to include the celebration of Hannukah in their decorations.

This is a complicated issue which has developed over time, but it boils down to political correctness and anti-Christian bigotry. The ACLU and others have taken it upon themselves to attempt to silence all Christian speech and expression outside of private homes and churches. The ACLU , and some individuals, have filed multitudes of law suits against schools, government agencies, etc. who have dared to allow Christian symbols or speech. The vast majority of these suits have been lost because our Constitution protects freedom of speech and religion. However, the media never reports on this fact and the public is left with the impression that anything Christian is not allowed. Since school officials and government representatives have absolutely no knowledge of the law (and apparently have no intention of educating themselves), the ACLU has bullied it's way to victory. There is much in our society that is offensive to many, but freedom of speech and expression are vigorously protected in all arenas except when it comes to anything Christian.

Because the ACLU has helped them get away with it. Nothing was wrong with it in like forever, and now it is?? Sorry Charley, but that shoe don't fit. The people that are pro Christian anything are the people being discriminated against the most. What other group has all this crap and "new rules" forced on them? (for those of you that disagree..I'll wait) Are not gay rights on the upswing and Christian rights on the down swing? Hard for me to understand how a woman can look at another woman or a guy look at another guy and get off...Wooh! Society, the ACLU says that's OK and defend it but it's wrong to say Merry Christmas. Give me a brake (break.) The officials that permit such are a bunch of power hungry, minority pleasing, narrow minded, non Christian, yellow backed wimps. AKA..@ss holes.

Did you not hear the rest of the news story?? after the airport people in Wa, state. took the trees down to avoid a law suit from the Rabbi, the Rabbi found out they just took the trees down, he was so sad, he told them he wouldn't sue them after all, and they put the christmas trees back up. All is well
