My daughter just turned 11 months old last week and I know you can't give babies cow's milk until they are at least 1 year old.
How do you introduce milk into their diet? My daughte is stil breast fed..I am currently trying to ween her but she doesn't want anyhting to do with formula. Is it really that dangerous for me to start introducing cow's milk 3 weeks shy of her 1st birthday?

Give her doctor a quick call in the morning, they will give you a proper answer. But since she is just now being weaned I would think it would be fine

Great job nursing her for so long! Keep on nursing! It's still good for her. It's not like it turns to water at 12 months or something. Breastfeeding will give her all the same benefits at 13 months that it did at 11 months. Actually, 12 months is the *minimum* amount of time the AAP suggests nursing. Then, after 12 months, if you want you can gradually begin to start introducing whole cow's milk.

My daughter was never "on" cows milk. I have always been lactose intolerant so I've been drinking soy or rice milk for years. Only time my daughter has had cows milk was when we were at someone else's home. She was on soy formula as an infant.

If your breastfeeding, try pumping and then mixing half of the formula with the breastmilk that worked for my baby
