These are the most common types of wheels:
Steel: Strong, heavy, and generally not attractive. While these are practical, they're normally covered with a hub cap.
Aluminum: Not as strong as steel, but they're much lighter. They normally don't require hubcaps.
Magnesium: Stronger than steel, lighter than aluminum, beautiful to look at, and expensive as all Hell.

mag wheels (alloy wheels) are more consistent as compared to ordinary rims /wheels.
becase they will be tested by ultrasonic technology and due to that they will be faultless. they are specially made for radial tyres, hence they provide good ride quality and handelling in all conditions. ordinary wheels will be made of steel can get cracked at any time and ride is quite on stiffer side and bumpy.
and last and not the least looks of the car or bike after adopting mag wheels is cool man.

No technical advantages if that is what you are looking for. Mag wheels are Magnesium-aluminium alloys. They are light, strong and are normally made for wider tyres, though even conventional pressed steel wheels can also be made to take wide tyres.
The only performance advantage would be cooling of brakes and wheel-hubs.
They can be made in smart looking shapes and that is why people spend all their money on them.

Hi. Mag wheels are lighter than normal pressed steel wheels. They dissipate more heat than normal wheels. Also increase the mileage of the vehicle marginally and increase looks of the vehicle. Now alloy wheels are affordable and are right choice if you are going for tubeless tyres. So combination of alloy wheels and tube less tyres is best.
Cheers,
Jay
