Just because your lights and accessories work, doesn't mean you're battery is not dead.. get a boost from someone.. go to an autozone..they will test you're battery for free.. as well as your alternator and spark plugs, and starter
This happened to me about 2 months ago..my alarmed, lights, accessories worked, but my car wouldn't turn on...
a new battery later...No problems..

when you turn the key, is there a clicking sound, if there is its your alternator, if there is no clicking sound then its your starter.
if your car is newer than 87 you can get a cheap disnostic tester at any auto part store, plug into under the dashboard console, it will pop out numbers and you get the book at the same place
and it shows you what items may need replaced. start with cheapest to most expensive.

i own a repair shop,and it may not be all the way in park,,this will cause the neutral safety switch to make it not let it start,,also it may have a real bad connection on the starter where the wire goes on it,,this happens a lot ,try checking all the wires and battery connections on it,,i think you,ll find it,,good luck,i hope this help,s.,,have a good x-mas.

Sounds like a bad starter I am actually being serious..my car had that problem

it might have a clutch safety switch , need the make and model
