I have a tilted uterus. For me it is genetic-yes, the uterus can shift, but if you have been told this on separate visits then it is probably the same for you-a permanent condition. Posterior means tilted toward the back. Mine is too.
For some people, it can make it harder to conceive and carry a child. Only a doctor that has examined the severity of your case can tell you if there is risk with your condition, because it varies. I have 3 children, and never had a problem with pregnancy because of it-although I did have to deliver by cesaerean. My sister also has a tilted uterus, and it took her almost two years to conceive, but she carried without a hitch-also had to have a cesaerean.
It will definitely make gynelogical exams more painful, because it changes the location of your cervix....every time I go the doctor has to search.

Tipped just means this, the uterus can tip forward or tip back. They use many terms for this, anterior, posterior. They use terms like retroverted (tipping back) anteverted (tipping forward). This is just like being right handed or left handed. If they told you it's tipped/posterior it means the same thing. Just means it leans backward towards your back. Instead of forward towards your belly button. The position of your uterus changes if you are pregnant, have endometriosis, amongst other things. Some are just born with a uterus that tips to the front/anteverted/anterior. Some are born with a uterus that tips to the back/posterior/retroverted.
Here are some pictures of what they are talking about.

If your uterus tilts back, you may have more pain during intercourse, more pain in your back while your're on your period. Tilting forward is more common but tilting back is like being left handed, it's not abnormal just wierd looking ;)
When you go have your next pap smear let them know your uterus tilts back, this helps them find the cervix faster so they are not looking around so much trying to find the cervix when it's pointing to the sky!
Hope this helps.
Oh and chances to conceive should be ok. Some positions may be better then others. You can talk to your doctor about that.

I had this same problem it means there is a little fold in your uterus. And my mom and I think that "posterior" means it is folded towards the back. Yes this can effect your fertility it can even cause you to miscarry. This condition is usually caused by a fall of some sort. It is hard to fix but not impossible. I suggest you do what I did. I went to a chiropractor and he set it back into place for me. Then he showed me how I could do it on my own at home. It took about four months before it stopped folding back. Now I have not had a problem with it in two months. If you don't have a good chiropractor where you live try this: Lie on you back with your feet scooted toward your bum, knees bent. Then shove your hands as far behind your pubic bone as possible. Pull up and straiten your knees. It hurts when you have a fold, but it doesn't if you don't. At least this has been my experience. Good luck!

So i visit assert sure it really is conceivable it tipped after your first infant as this became the case with my mom. i do not imagine its a poor ingredient as she had no wellbeing issues because of it. it will be a touch complicated once you attain labour yet i'm constructive the wellbeing middle is waiting for that. She nonetheless extra me vaginally so i do not imagine this is that undesirable.
