My boyfriend is constantly telling that I shouldn't wear my bra to bed because it will cause breast cancer. I do not believe the part about it being one of the contributing factors to breast cancer - I have and still read literature on the subject and there was nothing mentioned. However, I have never heard or read anything about the possible effects about their effects on women's health.

i do not believe that wearing a bra to bed can affect your health. it was either cosmo or cleo in which a reader asked this very question and the answer from the magazines doctor was no, as long as the bra fits right. if it doesnt, your breasts will also be affected in the day.

The only reason i don't wear a bra to bed because it's uncomfortable. I think your bf wants to get a feel in while you are sleeping and no i have never heard of cancer being caused by sleeping in a bra. But you can learn something new everyday i hope someone with some knowledge can answer this question for all of us.

If it makes you more comfortable to wear a bra to bed, than wear one to bed. It doesn't cause breast cancer. In fact, I've heard that not wearing a bra can cause breast cancer...both are old wives' tales.

No it will not cause cancer. But wearing a bra to bed isn't good for you either. Think about it, a bra squishes and molds them into a position that isn't natural. Now our society mandates that we wear one in public, but be nice to them and unleash the girls at night. They will thank you for the breathe of fresh air and the chance to be natural. Plus It is bad for your skin to wear one 24/7, the fabric in bras for the most part doesn't breathe much and that can lead to skin irritation and heat rashes.

Wearing a bra to bed does NOT cause cancer.
However, wearing a bra to bed causes bad hygiene and most women don't do it; myself included. I NEVER wear a bra to bed. Would you wear your clothes to bed (jeans, shirt)? No, of course not. A bra is the same thing.
Plus wearing a bra to bed does NOTHING to prevent sagging. That's a myth.

No wearing a bra to bed will not cause breast cancer. You should wear a bra to bed to help support your breast and it helps your breast from sagging.

thats an old wives tell someone told me that too it migh wear out the bra or cause a heat rash if you sweat a night but it won't cause cancer

there is no proof it can cause breast cancer. i have heard it can stop thier growth and make your breasts deformed. also, for hygienic reasons, don't wear it to bed, you sweat alot when you sleep! do wear it in the day because, it will help them to prevent early sagging.
