You know, I've heard this too, but I'd have to say no. My leg hair hasn't gotten any different since I started shaving. It's just one of those old wives tales.

It does over time. It sometimes just depends on the person, or their ethnic background. I don't have a scientific explanation, but It does grow back thicker, and faster, gradually however. Well at least it did when I started shaving (my face).
I don't know if it's true, or if it's just because you are growing and the hairs naturally grow faster, or maybe because the hairs are not removed by the root, but cut off, thus thinking they are damaged and regrow faster (thats what some people say).
Waxing however gradually does the opposite. But OUCH. Same with plucking. (Even though I'm a guy I do pluck in between my brows occasionally, nobody likes a unibrow lol).

I started shaving my legs when I was 15 maybe 16. I didn't even have much to shave then, but a lot of my friends started when they were younger. I doubt it gets thicker b/c my leg hair has been the same since, which is barely any. But my sisters is thick, I think it all depends on the person...

Not really the first time.. After you shave for several months, the hair will grow back thicker.

hair does not grow back thicker when shaved but it will apear to be because our hair over time becomes dried or thins. each hair is actualy broken down and becomes thinner. it becomes thicker as we get older and so some people start to shave about the time the thickening starts so obviously people seem to think that the darkening and thickening was due to the shaving but in reality it is the shaving that happened due to the thickening. did that make any sense?

Once I shaved for the first time there was no letting it grow back to see if it was thicker because it was pokey and you have shave it again.

The hair growing back thicker is a myth to everyone!!
The hair will not grow back thicker but it will have a blunt end and feel and almost look like its growing in thicker. :o)

Yeah, the first time.but the more you shave the less thicker it'll grow....you can also wax,it helps hair grow slower and not as thick, but it hurts a bit.plus i heard if you always wax, sooner or later hair just stops growing...

I'm a guy I shave my legs once a year to prevent excess leg hair. I don't find this to be true at all.
