Just put your Ipod in the USB port (the place you plug it in to get your music) and it will charge. The computer must be on though. You can also buy a wall charger, which is a little bit faster, from the apple store.

I have a 20 gig, but I assume is similar, connect up to the USB port to charge, my computers (especially notebooks) don't have the juice to power through the USB port so you may have to plug it into the wall.

If you have firewire, that will work too.
