Personally, this score is just average. If this is your first taking then i suggest a second taking with more preparation. A good score with the new numbering system would be maybe 1800+? But don't rely on the new writing section. Since it's so new most colleges don't consider as important as the math and critical reading sections. A third taking of the test is not suggested. Also 2400 is a perfect score now. i got a 1560 in SAT prep and im hoping for a 1800 after further studying.

Perfect is now 2400. According to this chart (see the link below) 1610 falls somewhere between what was previously 1000 and 1050, which is about average. Not a great score by any means, but not horrible.

the regularly occurring score for SAT Reasoning is 1560, your score is a touch above regularly occurring. once you've time, take it one extra time. i imagine this time your score will be more effective cauze you've journey. do not mark too many answer that you 're no longer particular. Take SAT challenge attempt besides. a minimum of is two challenge in 2 different section. Math aspect II you need to take. good luck for next time

That is a really good score. Most of the population doesn't even come close. (short by about 2-3hundred points) In your case, you'll probably be able to get into a any college or university of your choosing.

Be thankful! hard work finally payed off. We need more people like you in this world.

Congratulations on a great score and good luck.

Perfect on the new SAT is 2400.

A 1600 is in the 61st percentile. You're at the higher end of the average range.

how can you ask if it's bad or good? when you didn't provide us with the colleges you want to get into. if you want to go to an ivy league, then that's REALLY REALLY BAD but i mean, if you're shooting for state colleges or some average private school, then it's not so bad. it's fairly okay. if you're not a senior, you still have many opportunities to take it again (and i encourage that you do, most people improve a lot on the second try)

with the new numbering system, a mark that would get you into a good university would be starting as 1800, and for ivy league you'd need in the 2200's, so it depends what you're aiming for. Right now you're about in the average range.
