Yes. It's not until you hit 40 that the risk escalates.

I don't think the question should be is it healthy to have a baby in your thirties. Instead, are you a healthy 30+ year old having a baby? People can have health problems and diseases at any age throughout their reproductive years. My grandmother had her last child in the early 1960s at the age of 42 and I remember one of my neighbors while growing up had her last child at 43. My uncle is fine and so was my neighbor's son. It depends on how well you take care of yourself before, during and after your pregnancy. I am 38, look late 20s, and still feel like I am in my 20s and I have no health concerns or issues and sure do plan on having one before 40. Good luck to you if you decide to go for it.

I had my first child when I was 30 and the second one at 33. Having a baby after 30 dose have some risk. You should work very close with your Dr. They will do many test on you just to make sure everything is alright. If you follow your Dr's orders then you should be just fine. I have 2 wonderful bays now. Good Luck to You!

As long as the woman is healthy she can pretty much have a child at any age as long as she is still ovulating and hasn't gone into menopause. Yes after 40 there ARE some risk factors but with amnio and ultrasounds and other tests problems can be headed off before they become major troubles. I had my daughter when I was 32 and was at my healthiest during my pregnancy, she was fine except for the trouble with differing blood types. Once born she thrived and has continued to be healthy, will be turning 21 years next month.

Your fine in your early 30's but the later 30's are pushing it. As long as you are healthy and have a strong family background, you will be fine.

While no doctor is going to tell you how to live your life, there is plenty of resources to tell you that in your thirty's chances of having a child with an abnormality especially downs syndrome increases.
