Currently a junior and have approx a 3.0 GPA i'm hoping for a 1800 SAT score. Getting worried about what kind of colleges I can attend. I don't want to enter a college no one has ever even heard of.

Start preparing now for college applications or what you would want to put on your college applications. Do some community service, take on a leadership position at your high school, interact in some different academic or extracurricular activities and start focusing on your classes more. I actually had a 2.3 GPA and got into Indiana University and that is a Big Ten School that is recognized nationally. Don't worry about being accepted into a good school, you are already thinking about it now. Just start doing some research on colleges and universities and think about what you may want to major in. Take some career and personality assessments to start honing in on careers that are best suited for you and you can also put this in your college application materials that you took the time to think about what you wanted to do to make your college experience more meaningful.

Don't worry about it. Just realize that college gives you a second chance. Do well in college, and no one will ask what you got in high school.

3.0 isn't horrible either. You can get into plenty of nationally recognized colleges, especially if you get a top notch SAT score.

University of California schools..they're quite creditable since all of them are ranked somewhere on the best public universities list..the minimum GPA is 3.0 so you should be fine..good luck!
