I am thinking of taking summer acting classes during summer vacation while I'm out of school. Is this a good idea, like I am a very shy. I just got an A in Drama school this term in high school. And how do people who are looking for people to act in a movie find you? By the way I'm in gr. 8 if that helps you.. Thxs!!

drama rocks. it is a great confidence booster, esp. if you are unwilling to share who you are with others as you can be someone else. you learn how to handle different situations through the experiences of your characters and you can make super friends. i would say go for it and break a leg!!

Definitely take acting classes. I am shy too when I am in new places, but as soon as I am comfortable, I act normal and goofy. If you recieved an A in Drama, you obviously have talent. And as far as the movie acting goes, I would suggest getting an agent. Of course, because you're under 18, you should have your parents/guardian check out the agent first. And if they approve, pursue a career. Listen to your agent, they know the business, also try to avoid scams because their out there. See you in the next movie!

That's a great idea. As you probably already know being shy is not necessarily an obstacle to getting up on stage and preforming and it will most likely help you get over your shyness.
I would start by looking for drama classes by community theaters
and the like in your area.
At your age you would have to go looking for an agent first, and I would recommend waiting until you have a few more classes under your belt first.

With cameras being so cheap presently, lots of people are getting experience like lonelygirl15 from YouTube. She has two coaches and a script it turns out! Join Thespean Club at your school and the choir may present a musical you can act in if you are a member. "Bye Bye Birdie" was a smash hit parody on Elvis Presley and my schools choir had to do several shows as it was SOLD OUT!

i know kids who are really shy, but once they hit the stage they completely light up! i think acting is really, really fun and can help you in many areas of life. i'm in college and i still take acting classes just for fun! plus, many jobs like to see that you've taken them because that means you can communicate well. so i say - go for it!

and as for people that act in movies, most of them get agents first. they audition for talent agents, and if they're good enough, then the agents agree to represent them. then the agents get scripts and such from movie people and guide the actor through the auditioning process for movie roles.
