I've always wondered what time certain t.v. shows come on in California, as well as the evening news. For instance, what time does Desperate Houswives come on in Cali? Or the evening news?

Network TV shows generally come on at the same time in the Pacific time zone as they do in the Eastern time zone. So if it's on at 9 p.m. EST, it will air here 3 hours later when it is 9 p.m. PST.
The evening news is on at 5 or 6, and the late news is on at 11. A few stations have experimented in moving everything up 1 hour so that their late news will be on at 10.

The evening news in California starts at 5/6 O'clock here in California. Desperate Housewives is a stupid show and a waste of my eyes to watch.

I've lived on both the east coast and the west coast and normally they run on the same schedule.
For example, if Desperate Housewives is on at 9 p.m. in NY, then it's on at 9 p.m. in L.A.
Central and Mountain time run the shows one hour behind so DH would be on at 8 p.m.

probably at the same time they come on the east coast and the mid-west. it's just that when it's eight o' clock in new york it's five o' clock in l.a.
