Ok, so here it is. I am a 14 year old female, both parents are Indian, father is 5' 7" and mother is 5' 6". I have had my period since the 6th grade (currently in 9th grade), born in the U.S, and am 5'2". Is this normal? Aren't you supposed to be taller than your parents? Is there any chance of me growing any taller? And if so how? I want to be at least 5'4".

From what I have read after you get your periods your growth slows down but you keep on growing until you reach 18.My daughter is like you. She is quite tall has her periods and will slow down growth wise.

There is not a definite time that a person stops growing, however it is said that by the time you are 18 -21 usually you will stop growing during this time. Some people will stop growing at a much earlier age and science can not determine an individuals growth.pattern. If your mother and father are tall, you may not grow as tall as either of them. As height has a lot to do with hereditary, so it is perfectly normal that you may remain at 5'2". When you talk about hereditary, you may have great grandparents or other relatives that were closer to your height. You do not have to be taller than your parents, your height is not determined that way.
My father was 6'1 and my mother was 5'9 , at 5'7 . I am the shorter person in the family of 4 children and 2 adults..

You will probably still grow more.

But, my mom is 5 5, my dad is 5 10. My older brother is 5 11, my younger brother is 6 2. And *I* am almost 5 2.

It's not bad being short...
