Yes, he did. Peter Boyle was a wonderful actor. He apparently died of a combination of cancer and heart disease. Over the years, he played an amazing variety of roles. My favorites: 1. The religious fanatic mental patient in The Dream Team; 2. The Frankenstein monster in young Frankenstein; 3. Clyde Bruckman in "Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose," one of my favorite X-Files episodes (Season 3, Episode4) for which I believe he received an Emmy; and 4) The racist father of Billy Bob Thornton in Monster's Ball. What a variety! I never got into "Raymond," but the few times I saw it, he was the best thing about the show from my point of view. The consummate professional, he continued working even while dying of his terminal illness. I'll certainly miss him.
A great piece of trivia I picked up: John Lennon was best man at his wedding. They were apparently great friends. May they once again be enjoying each other's company.

I don't even know if it's a real audience, or just "canned" laughter, but the idea is to make you think something is funny, even when it might not be. It bothers me that children watch shows that have the audience laughing when someone puts someone else down; it teaches them that this funny, when it really isn't.

I heard this morning that Peter Boyle had passed away. I also remember him from an episode of the X-Files. I think it was titled "Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose". Sad news. He'll certainly be missed.

Movie that no one saw where he was great...
The Dream Team with Michael Keaton...
See it and laugh for him....
A member of the Christian Brothers religious actor's club, he eventually acted with Chicago's famed improvisational troupe "Second City"...a group that turned out people like Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd, Harold Ramis, Eugene Levy, and Rick Moranis...

Peter Boyle. And did anyone hear that he was a Christian monk? That shocked me more than his actual death.
