Well you have said only that you have been together for 19 years. This is all the facts we have. Therefore I am going to assume that this is a normal everyday common garden variety relationship. There might be many reasons why you two did not get married up to now. However marriage is two things that living or being or whatever together is not. One, marriage is an act of faith that you both have in each other and your relationship. Two, marriage is an open, legal, acknowledged and often divine committment that people make to one another. They formalise, committ to in words and deeds, proclaim it to the world and have it acknowledged by all the world, their relationship. It transforms a relationship from theory into practice. From let it be written to let it be done. If you two have been together for 19 years then you both have demonstrated all the essentials of marriage- save the committment to actually doing it. If you lot are not eminently suitable to be married after 19 years-you never will be. Just go ahead and DO IT.

if you been together for 19 years, and not married yet, theres
no use to worry about it now. the day you get married would
be the day you would start fighting & end up in a divorce.
my god really 19 years that is truly amazing, that should be like a world record or something. it's none of my business, but could you like add some details & tell me & other's why you would be
together that long without getting married.

It's up to you, but for me the only reason to marry your other 1/2 would be to make sure upon your death that they would receive everything or a good portion of it according to a Joint Tenants with rights of Survivorship type clause, in your Trust, (Will). I would want to make sure that my Lover and Beast Friend was protected financially , the same as if, we were married. There are also a number of Income Tan issues that should be considered by couples as they ponder the marriage issue, as well. Not to mention the Social & Moral ( BS ) that you might receive from friends, employers, and all.

"Marriage is a wonderful institution...but who wants to live in an institution?” - Groucho Marx

No, marriage CAN be a beautiful thing, but speaking from "experience"... I really don't think it's neccessary to have to marry somone just to show them you love them (assuming you love your partner).

I think... marriage = financial responsibility

BUT! "To each man their own" (or I think that's how it goes).

If you really love this person and you know that's what they want, and it's also something you want... "Call me, I'll hook you up with a great reception venue!" (totally kidding).

In all seriousness... I don't think I will remarry, regardless if I find "the one." But if you have a marriage that is based on
TRUST
COMMUNICAITON
and LOVE

then "yes" you should get married.

"...and they lived happily ever after. The End."

PLUS, why did you guys wait so long?

.pEace.

First I think you should ask yourself why you have been together and not gotten married. 19 years is an awfully long time to be together and not make the final commitment to your relationship. Then ask yourself why you should get married. Try a list of pros and cons. You might both surprise yourselves with the answers.

Based on the time you are together w ur partner, yes you should..long time ago. But by the way you are asking us here..are you confused or anything? Marriage has to be based on you both want it. Is this what you both want...? Discuss it w ur partner is the best...19 years together is really special and i salute you for that..
All the best

If you've lasted this long , forget the marriage it's only a piece of paper anyway. But that piece of paper can cause more problems than anything, once they get that paper they own you so they think.
