My dad is a general contractor. After 30 years of working for other people, he finally decided to open his own company. February 2007 will mark his 10th anniversary in business for him and I am looking for ideas to help him celebrate.

Wow! That's awesome that you thought about this! You are sooo thoughtful! I'm sure he'll be glad that you do anything at all!

Maybe you could look into getting him something that will make daily life "at the office" easier. Check with other family members and/or clients - they may have ideas too! Maybe if you get hold of a client, they'll foot the bill for a party??? hmm?? Thinking outside the bun! lol

Take care & whatever you do, he'll appreciate it!! You're a good person for it!

What a great idea! I think he will be very pleased at anything you do because it is so thoughtful. Is there something that would make his business life easier like a piece of equipment etc that he might not have gotten around to getting. Maybe you can take up a collection with his family and friends and get that item OR throw him a big surprise party with family and friends to celebrate. You might also see if a local paper would write a short article on it or if you could take out an ad commemorating the occasion.

A laptop computer, or a filing cabinet, or maybe some work done by a genealogist to chart the family history.
