If I break a law of the land and am caught then I have to accept the consequences, therefore if my wife breaks the laws of my household, she has to accept the consequences, correct? I have a rule that says women are not allowed to watch PG-13 or higher movies without a male relative present, yet when i came home, I found out my wife was watching "Pretty Woman" with her sister. First off, she didn't have my permission to watch this slutty trash and secondly no male relative was present. I told her she grounded and could not see her sister for a week. Her sister got all upset and told her not to listen to me but after a few minutes I finally kicked her out of the house. They both knew better and they both knew my rules. Her sister told her mother and now her mom calls up and blasts me out like I have no right to do that to her daughter, yada yada yada....Am I being ridiculous here? Am I really being unfair?

Man I am going to be real with you. You do not need a wife you need a therapist. Where are you from? Your dillemia doesn't sound like it would come from someone who lives in the states or even in the west for that matter.
Your wife can't watch Pretty Women because of the rules of your house? WHAT?????? You need to go walk back into your time machine and go back to the medivial period.
You need to ask yourself one important thing.
Is the foundation of my marriage built on (a) domination and control or (b) genuine love and respect.
If your marriage is built on (a) than free your wife by granting her a divorce and purchase a dog so you can control it all you like.
P.S. This is the wierdest question I have ever heard. "A wife cannot watch a P.G.-13 movie unless a male is present." Well dammmm, if you and your wife have a sixteen year old son, will she have to ask his permission to watch a dammm PG-13 movie????

Hum....First of all what is so wrong with her watching a movie without you? I mean its just a MOVIE!...Regardless if you think the movie is trashy or whatever to her it may not be and Pretty Women sure might seem trashy to some but it does have a good story line behind it...Its a girly movie and to watch that with her sister shouldnt be a big deal to you. Second of all your WIFE is not your child so you do not need to treat her as if she is one...Grounding her what is that all bout..i would have laughed in your face....Marriage is bout compromising....not you trying to be her father...She needs to have her own life and her own decisions or else u will go to far one day and she will be gone ...Do you love your wife? ok well if so then you need to treat her like a wife and not a prionser....So your acting a little over the edge here....DONT BE SO CONTROLLING that will drive her away fast!!

Yes you are being ridiculous and yes you are being unfair. Are you in a marriage or are you the jail warden? As an adult your wife should be able to do as she darn well pleases without having to get your permission to do so. I think your wife must be an extremley tolerant woman, as I would have kicked your butt out the door long ago. Or failing that left you and your insane rules a long way behind. I suggest you should get a life!

I hope your wife's sister has a talk with her and brings her to an attorney to file for a divorce, then takes you for everything right down to the last crumb! Then she finds a REAL MAN who will treat her right and give her a NORMAL LIFE!!!! You are a complete pompas ***! I would like to have my hubby take a round out of you! But he wouldn't, you know why? Umm.... Are you serious? Are you from the 17th Century? I'm trying to keep a straight face, yet I feel sorry for your wife at the same time.
Your wife is an independent person, not your lapdog. Your wife should be able to dress how she wants, does what she wants, and associate with who she wants as long as she is being faithful to you. It sounds like her sister has a head on her. If you keep trying to be controlling I would be surprised if your wife stays with you.

You need to grow up because your acting like a big baby in this situation! Your wife should be treated with respect and so should your guest regardless if they are family! You really need to go to marriage counseling in order to understand your marriage. Or at least wake up from your childless rules and let your wife be and stop treating her like a 12 year old girl!

A wife should be treated like someone you love and cherish...not someone you are so willing to punish for her doing something that makes her happy like watching a movie with her sister. She is your equal in marriage and in love. If you give her respect then there is a greater chance of her respecting you too. A woman needs to feel like she is loved by her husband, not like she is bieng "whipped" into shape in a boarding school. She needs love not punishment.
