I took a pregnancy test early in the morning and our lights were still out and I thought it was negative because I only saw the one line. About 10-15 minutes later when I got up and turned on the lights I noticed there was a second line, but it was much lighter than the other line. When I came home 9 hrs later I could still see both lines, one much darker than the other. How do I interpret this? It's only been a few days since my expected period.

I had that happen once. I could only see a faint line and was told to make an appointment with my doctor. When the day of the doctors appointment arrived I went back and grabbed the test from under the sink and by then it was a darker line. When I had the blood test done at the doctors it was positive. Goodluck!

I would take a blood test. I took 5 pregnancy tests and they all did the same thing. I got a blood test and it was positive. The second line on the tests was barely visible. I thought it was an evaporation line.
Good Luck

Every HPT has a space where a line appears to show the test had been done right. the other space is usually where the + is depending on the type or brand of the test, check the pamphet inside the box to know what you're looking for to know whether your preg or not. You can always do another test.

hey hun, From what you have said. IT sounds like a positive Pregnancy test ;) Faint line also means its postive. No line means negative. I would take another pregnancy test to be sure. The more days missed the more darker it will be.. God Bless xx Best wishes xx

when i took my first preg. test on the day i was supposed to get my period, the line was very light, i took a couple more hpt over the next few days and it got darker. its just that early in the pregnancy you aren't producing that much hcg(pregnancy hormone) thats why the line was lighter. but you are prob. def. pregnant. take another one in a few days.

Congrats... 2 lines are two lines... whether one is faint or not... I'd take another and watch it after the 3 minutes JUST TO BE SURE... but that second line shouldn't show up without you being pregnant. GOOD LUCK!

Both my pregnancy tests had faint lines, it is probably a positive test. I would make an appt with the DR to be sure.

If it was negative in the first few minutes, it's negative. If you wait too long to read the results, you'll get a false positive--an "evaporation line."

If you're really nervous, test again. But you're probably not pregnant.

faint line means you are pregnant, I would buy another test just to be sure because it was a while after you did the test before the results were seen
