because we see his goal and know that it is a must for the betterment and protection of this country. this is a war of the likes we have never experienced before and he is definitely being too weak so yea I admit he is wrong in that. I think there are alot of things he is wrong in but the fact is he is sticking to his convictions on fighting terrorism and until someone comes up with a better way to do that. we are moving ahead.
food for thought......in the late 1930s most of the people in the world thought Churchill was a disgrace and a war monger. sure wonder how all those people feel now.

I am a Republican and I do admit that Bush was wrong with the Iraq war. For the past 100 years at least, the US has been shouldering the worlds problems. Before that we had tried to implement an Isolationist foreign policy. With WWI, we tried not to get involved, but as Western Europe was about to fall, we came over to save the day. In WWII, again we tried to remain neutral, but Japan had other plans for us. With the suprise bombing of Pearl Harbor and the deaths of more than 2000 military personal, nurses and civilians, we were once again pulled into another major war. Given the task of saving the world once again.
After the war was over, we devised a new strategy. Instead of waiting until large scale battles involving multiple countries ensued, we would go in, with the UN's approval and nonexistant help, to stop the small problems before they became big ones. We then had Korea, Vietnam, and the first Gulf War all to prevent larger wars from happening.
Then, much like Pearl Harbor, we had 9/11, an attack that took over 3000 civillian lives. Our next war was in Afghanistan where we bombed the Taliban. Part way through this war our intelligence opporatives got bad information that told us Iraq was a threat. This is our newest war, and obviously, a big mistake.
Bush's delema now is this: we have been there too long and caused too much destruction and made too many radical muslims mad to just downright leave. If we pull the troops out and just focus on rebuilding those people become the targets. If the troops stay to protect the people there trying to rebuild Iraq, they remain the insurgents targets.
Admitting you are wrong is one the hardest things in the world to do. But even if he does, it does not change the fact that we will be there for a long time.

I guess that first they would have to actually think that he's wrong. I think more on the democratic lines... but in this case, I have to agree w/ the president... even though he's such a goof.
you need to take a little lesson in history to understand all of this.
the current presidents father did the same thing, except after asking the people to rise up against what was going on... and they did... he backed out.... this resulted in thousands and thousands of people being slaughtered.
this president is trying to finish what he started... if he does what his father did, then the outcome will be even greater (in a very negative way.... including for the US)

It's like this. Libs want republicans to hate him as much as they do. Most republicans will criticize some of the things he has done, but most of us do not go so far as demonizing every move he makes, like libs want us to. He has actually done a good job at a few things. (The results of homeland security- criticize the methods if you wish, but the results speak for themselves... the economy is currently the best in American history.) We recognize what he has done well. The libs can't or won't do that. Until we openly despise him as much as libs do, we will continually be accused of blindly following the man without regard for anything... but that simply isn't the case for most of us.

Bush has his flaws. As you said no one is human! Maybe one of flaws might be him admitting that he may or may not have done somethings wrong. Or Just maybe he is not doing anything wrong. We do not see everything or know everything that happening.
Maybe it's not the republicans can't admit that he did something wrong maybe the republicans are just sick of hearing that he even breathes wrong.
Just an Observer!

People always claim to be moderate, Nancy Pelosi thinks she is, and so does George.
I am a Libertarian and am wondering why Both parties cant admit they are both wrong.
Both are Socialists and are leading this country into ruin.

Because neolibs think it's OK for a mother to kill her baby, but not for brave military folks, who volunteer, to die for the their country if necessary.
