First of all, you are going to trust a car salesman to give you an honest answer? Sheesh. Gimme a break. Now let's get to the question at hand. Given the choice between the two cars, I would definately go with the Buick Le Sabre. I own a '98 Oldsmobile Intrigue which is basically a re-skinned LeSabre, with FWD and the 3.8 litre engine. Don't get me wrong, the Corsica is okay, but the LeSabre is roomier, nicer and gets virtually the same gas mileage as the Corsica. The Corsica might get a little better mileage, but not enough to make a big difference in the long run. When you consider the reliability factor the 3.8 holds up better than the 3.1 litre. Over the past 30 years or so I have owned and driven American as well as foreign vehicles. I also own an '01 2WD Toyota Tacoma. Each has their own place in my life, each with their own purpose. I do not prefer one over the other. And when I say over the past 30 or so years, we are talking SEVERAL cars. As a car freak, I would get one, keep it awhile and get another just because I wanted something different. So that gives you a bit of background as to where my answer is coming from. While others may give you their opinions as to other options, and they are good, you have given the choice of 2 different cars. We cannot assume anything other than what you have asked. And given the difference between the two, if both are really nice cars, go with the LeSabre for the previously stated reasons. Good luck and happy motoring!

It depends on several factors.. #1. which car is in better shape? #2. which car is newer? #3. Which car is being sold by someone who appears to be more honest than the other?

One thing that gives me confidence in buying a used car is when the seller starts off by telling me everything that is wrong with it. It suggests that he has nothing to hide even if it means telling me something that I wouldnt want to hear.

If the guy tells me something like he knows very little about the car except for the fact that it belonged to some 80 year old guy who only used the car to drive to church and out to the beach on weekends, I would be a bit more wary.

I would also be suspicious if the name on the title was different from the name of the seller. Its perfectly legal to sell a car in that manner, however, if the seller's name is John Smith and the title says Mary Jones, chances are that he picked up the car in an auction for a cheap price, temporarily patched the leaks, and gave it a good wash and wax job and put it on the market to make a fast buck.

I think these would be a bit gas guzzly. Go for Japanese, like Honda, Toyota, ect. They tend to hold their value well, also and resell like hotcakes. And they last for more miles.

both are pretty decent on gas. plus they're old and cheap. it's really up to you, but buy the one that's in better condition and has lower miles.
