Its the second quadrant. Because it would be -2 units in the x direction and +5 units in the y direction. If you draw an intersecting x and y axis so it looks like a (+) the quadrants are as follows.... the top right corner is quadrant 1, the top left corner is quadrant 2, the bottom left corner is quadrant 3, and the bottom right corner is quadrant 4. This would also lie in the xy plane since you only have two variables (x and y). Hope this helps.

I learned how to plot points by this method: The first number is how many you run and the second number is how many you jump.
So for this problem you would run -2 (2 squares to the left of 0,0) and then jump 5 (up because it is a positive number).
Unfortunately, it has been a long time since I have listed the Quads, but it is either Quad I or Quad II.
