It all depends. There are many things that come the first year. Lots of highs and lows. It just depends on how dedicated you are and how much you really want it to happen. A business is going to be difficult always. It just won't always be as difficult as other times. I am in the business of starting new businesses. I love the first year because of the challenge. It is easy to survive but you don't want to just survive. You want to dominate. If you don't have that kind of attitude then you will probably just survive. I call this starting yourself a job, Not starting a business. If you want more info and help contact me. www.stonesolutioninc.com

The first year is always the hardest year to survive in a small business. Small business do not operate with the same expenses and revenues as larger businesses. The key is to not overexert your revenues in maintaining your expenses. In other words spend less than what you take in. After the first year, everything picks up.

That is just part of the price you pay but it can be worth it.

My advice is keep a low budget and low salary for your self for as long as you can. Think of it this way. each month you have to make a cake " you salary, or what you pay your self".
Do you want to have to make a big cake with a little icing or make a small cake with a lot of icing, and this icing is real sweet.
Best of luck

It's difficult and hard if you are only trying to survive. Join a mastermind/coaching/mentoring group and hang around with success and motivated people to get results.
See it clearly, believe it totally and do it successfully
