The 76ers aren't in a hurry to trade Iverson. I think a deal will be done probally in the next few days. A few of the problems are that. The salaries need to match in a deal, there could be at least 3 teams making this deal. And the 76ers have heard from the serious teams that want Iverson. Now they are getting teams that are just curious about Iverson.

In my opinion, I believe that 76ers chairman Ed Snider and GM Billy King are just trying to get the best deal that they can for "the face of the franchise for the last 11 years" Allen Iverson. You can't really blame the Philadelphia brain trust for taking their time as Philly fans still haven't forgotten what the Sixers got for Wilt Chamberlain in 1968 (The Los Angeles Lakers Jerry Chambers, Archie Clark and Darrall Imhoff) or what they got for Sir Charles Barkley in 1992 (The Phoenix Suns Jeff Hornacek, Andrew Lang and Tim Perry).
As of yesterday, GM Billy King has officially rejected the Los Angeles Clippers offer (involving guard Cuttino Mobley and guard/forward Corey Maggette for Allen Iverson).
Hope this helps.

say you were in philly's place and you had to trade allen iverson who is your franchise player. Well you would oviuosly want to look for the perfect guy becasue if you just trade him off and you find out it wasn't a good trade then your screwed for another few years. Look at the pacers they traded ron artest for peja stojakavic and they only had him for less than half the season so you really have to think about trading this guy great question by the way

People can say what they want but the problems Philly is having are of their own making. They should have shopped AI this summer when they knew they could not come up with a competent supporting staff. AI does have an aversion to practice but no one and i mean no one plays harder or plays hurt like Allen. There are financial issues to consider as well as his age in trading for AI. His is as tough as nails but how much does he have left in the tank after years of carrying Philly on his shoulders

Big salary - is he worth it? Can you fit it into your salary cap?
Bad attitude at times
Close to the end of his career - you don't want to give up young guys given he has only 2 or 3 years left.
He has a no trade clause - can veto deals (he has according to rumor said there are cities he will NOT go to)
Is Iverson even one of the top ten guards in the league at this point? You have Wade, Nash, Bryant, Anthony, Parker, Billups, Arenas, Kidd, Redd, Allen, Cassell, McGrady... is he really better than all of these guys? Given this, how in demand is he?

A.I. is a volume scorerer. He needs lots of shots to score his 30 a night. What team would want to pick up a player that has a fg% below the league average and feels like he has to take 30 shots a night. Philly thinks he is worth a first round pick or a prospective superstar but know one wants any aging veteran who is a cancer in the clubhouse.

Lots of factors, but primarily, the reason is Iverson is selective on the team he would be traded and at the same time, the contract of Iverson is too expensive - even though he plays solid basketball night in and out.

They are asking too much and there are a lot of available deals so it's hard for them to pick one out of all of them. Some of the deals are very complicated, involving multiple teams so they have to go through everything with everyone

Nobody wants to give anything for his overinflated ego, his bad attitude, and his ridiculous salary. On top of that, he's 33 and he's a locker room cancer.
