can somebody give me some tips on how to beat the boss stage of the Labyrinth Zone in Sonic 1?

I know the boss that you mean. It's basically a race to the top of the passageway you're in. It just takes a lot of practice and it is hard the first time you fight him. Start chasing the moment Dr. Robotnik makes a run for it. Just keep on jumping up the platforms while avoiding the spikes. If the water catches up, not only will you slow down considerably, there are no air bubbles. That means you'll be suddenly on a time limit to get to the top.

umm... ya here is a tip, GET SOME SKILLS, I mean dude, its really easy.
