I let it dry for 2 weeks and yes! the good news is that it works! bad news when it's charging, it makes a little noise and the brightness of the screen keeps changing. Should I be concerned that it might damage the system or ignore and consider it the minimum damage that could happen to my laptop?

well if it was just water i wouldnt worry about it, maybe replace battery. and for future reference when something spills on laptop or cell phone even take battery out first thing, then let it dry out with blow dryer or whatever, then it increases the chances dramatically.

Back up your data asap, as anytime the screen flickers, it is on it's way out. I wouldn't worry about the battery, just make sure that none of the contacts btw the system and the battery are not corroded. The battery is sealed, so you could dunk it in a pool and it would be ok.
The motherboard is a different story. There is a battery on it that always supplies power to the system, and if it got wet and something is shorting out in the system, it's only a matter of time.

every time you spill drinks on electronics you will desire to right this moment power it off and disconnect all batteries and power cables. This would desire to be executed until the gadget is permitted to of course dry out. Water is the wonderful element you could spill on it because of the fact there is not any sugars or something left over whilst it does dry out. even though it must be dry once you restart it. it could take countless days for a working laptop or computing device to dry out. If it does not artwork then, you have have been given a concern. yet whilst that's in basic terms the keys and keyboard then possibly those have been given shorted, and you have got worse issues. I spilled a nil.5 glass of grapefruit juice on an afternoon-previous computing device one time. you do no longer click 'close down' and watch for it; you in basic terms disconnect all power so that's off as speedy as accessible. My computing device became fantastic until a pair of 365 days later whilst some thing befell unrelated to it; regrettably i became denied guarantee service because of the fact there became grapefruit information decrease than the keyboard! So in case you have a concern, and you're in guarantee, you're in success because of the fact water shouldn't flow away any residue. do exactly no longer point out the spill ;-) playstation a pair circumstances an afternoon, close a paper towel in it and lay it the different way up. The paper towel would desire to take in countless the water that doesn't evaporate.

The only thing worse then water is soda. If it was Tap water you may be in trouble. Water contains minerals and they conduct, if you got the water in the keyboard it would most likely be no problem unless it was like a full glass and with a laptop the only minimal damage would be a cracked case.
Take it in and have a tech open it up.
Good luck!!

You should be somewhat concerned. I don't want to freak you out but it is highly possible something, somewhere shorted out. Your best bet is to bring into any Apple store and let a Mac Genius take a look at it.

My guess is that any damage would have occured when you first turned it back on, so I'd say roll with it. But, hey, I'm a friggin' monkey...
