Good Question!!!
Sanity. If you are sane, then you could protect yourself to the best of your abilities. Therefore it's a win-win situation, mostly. If you are just safe, then you aren't sane and you could be a danger to yourself.

sanity. because safety is no where and an insane person can be kept in a mental institute saying ta that for that individuals safety.
I'd rather have my sanity that being locked up for my safety.

I would choose sanity because you can't really be safe if you don't even know if you are sane enough to save yourself from whatever it is you need saving from. Sanity=safety basically. (to me anyways) :)
