i own a repair shop, and its acting like your loosing spark on it,,this would be the coil going bad on it,,or in this case id say its gone out,,if not the coil check the rotor button on it,i have seen brand new ones burn a bad spot on them and cause this to happen yours is one of those that your going to have to try everything until you find it,,i have had my share of these believe me,,they can try your patience a little, but just look it all over, its probably ignition related on it,,good luck with it,i hope this help,s.,,have a good x-mas.

Two possibilities that I can think of
1. TIming belt broke. Take the distributor cap off the car. (Make sure you mark it before removing so you don't place it on wrong.)
Turn over the car. If your rotor button doesn't move, it means the timing belt is toast)
2. Igniter module or coil has gone out. Get one of your old plugs, pull one of the wires and place the spark plugs into the wire to connect it up. ground the electrode end against the engine. (ie valve cover) . Have someone turn over the engine. You should see a spark from the spark plugs. (WARNING: Do not touch the car's engine or the spark plugs when doing this. Hold the wire from the insulated end or you'll be in for a big surprise)

Remove the distributor cap and have some one turn the engine over while you look to see if the rotor is turning. If it is not then it is a timing belt issue.
I would then check the compression to make sure it was within specs. If you don't have enough compression it will not start.
If both those check out ok, my best guess without being there to work on it would be the igniter.
Hope that helps.

It needs Spark, Fuel and compression to run
Make sure getting all those, check to make sure plug wire didn't fall off coil, could of happened.
Spark problem, you should be able to hear fuel pump when turn key on for a few seconds

My guess is that the ignition module needs replacement-- sudden failures always indicate an electrical problem. Fuel failures are more gradual, at least give warning that something's not happening.
Give a few more details- I'm just guessing here.
