Metalcore is hard core and heavy metal put together. Two very famous bands of metal core are dead to fall and darkest hour.

I checked out those bands because I'm a hardcore fan, but I didn't like them. Too much metal not enough core I guess. I don't know, too me it lacked emotion, seemed forced. But hey, I tried. And for Coutterhill, hardcore is a type of punk rock, not metal related at all really. Some hardcore bands you might have heard of are Black Flag, Agnostic Front, Kill your Idols, there's also a subgenre of Hardcore called D-beat or Crust punk thats home to bands like Discharge, Tragedy, From Ashes rise, and His hero is gone. D-beat is a little closer to Metalcore, but is still distinctly punk in beat. Jimmy, you might like d-beat, you should try it out.
