We broke up 3 weeks ago.it was a long distance relationship and we saw each other once a month.I am graduating from college next spring and while we were still together we talked about me moving to his city and starting med school there, but all of a sudden, he began saying that he's not sure we are compatible..the problem is I want to have a carreer and he wants somebody that will be dependent on him, stay home & take care of the house...he says am too independent and too "smart" for him and I'll get tired of his simple life.I know his family has a lot to do with his decision and he knows they'll never accept me. Even though I kept telling him I love him to death and I'll never put my job before him he's convinced the relationship won't work out b/c we are too different...I was ready to try to work it out, but I felt I was the only one making efforts..the whole situation was too much for him to handle. I had enough of him being unsure so I broke up with him..did I do the right thing?

Unless you want to stay at home and take care of the house for the rest of your life, if not, you did a right thing.

You are smart enough not to put your career on the line. You might want to find a nice house husband like me.

yes you did do the right thing. As hard as it may seem now, you have the right to live your own life and follow you dreams. anyone involved in your life should respect that as you respect their dreams and find a way to meet in the middle.

Well I believe you have the answer yourself. It is always better to find the problem early rather than you realised it later. If your bf is still unmatured at this stage, I think it is better to end it early.
