Yes, nothing wrong with it. There are 300 million of them don't forget. The vast majority have a GOOD sense of humour.

You get prissy, ignorant small minded people in all countries, not just America. We shouldn't let a small minority sway our opinion.

The American sense of humour is different, though. For instance - in contrast to the UK- they don't find farts amusing in the slightest.

The american sense of humour is much more innocent than ours but they also have shows like Seinfeld, etc so - especially in the northern states- the humour can be quite sophisticated.

Like I said, it's hard ot generalise about 300 million people.

Yes I do, sometimes they laugh at things we would not laugh at
and vice versa. We in Europe have a sarcastic sense of humour
that the Americans do not always like. Then there is the Language
Barrier, European Comedians have to Adopt American Speak if
they are to be understood in the States. Americans say Windshield we say Windscreen, they say tamate we say tomato
and a host of other words are different to our English, and the Jokes dont work if they use standard English in America.Sometimes our Comedians are very Crude and Lewd
and tell anti Religeous Jokes it sometimes does not go down well, otherwise about the same really

As an American, I am biased, but I still say yes. When I was eighteen, I met some guys from Sweden and Norway, and they said that Americans tend to be fun people who live for the day. That's the only time I heard someone from another country describe the "American" personality, so take it with a grain of salt.

I think Americans understand sarcasm as humorous. They don't understand satirical humour at all .So as good all round humour I don't think they get most of it

The ones with a sense of irony, and sarcasm can be witty, but I find Americans take most things too literally, and come across as rather dull.
